About

Welcome to the IPv6 Info page.  I have been teaching theory and deployment of IP version 6 for many years and this site has come about as a repository of information for the people that have taken my classes as well as for the general public that may be preparing for a deployment of IP version 6.  I am starting this from scratch, meaning that instead of just using this as a dumping point for all of the existing documentation that I have, I will be writing each posting new for this blog.

Since some people reading this will be unfamiliar with IP version 6 I will be posting the typical basic information, like the addressing format and binary-to-hex conversion, since it is important to have as a background so please do not start flaming me yet because I will be posting more specific and detailed information as well.

What infomation will I be writing about?  As stated above, I have to cover some of the basics but beyond that I will be posting more detailed information that gets brought up through questions during my lectures and if you have anything that you want me to discuss let me know and I will see what I can do about it.

Thanks for reading this and I hope you find it useful.
